Unusually Thoughtful, Searchable, Visitor Friendly FAQ Content
Among Customer Carewords partners, website FAQ sections are not usually held in high esteem. That’s certainly true of college and universities examples. I always laugh at the ones that start with “What is your mission?” or “When were you founded?” Often you have to scroll through a long list of presumed questions in search of something that matches your interests. And sometimes there are no links to additional content after a brief answer.
Today’s Link of the Week takes a different approach, starting with the headline promise that these are in fact the “top frequently asked questions.” What you see next are not the FAQs themselves but easy-to-scan pathways to open lists of questions divided into 5 primary areas:
- General FAQs (16 choices)
- Undergraduate FAQs (5 choices)
- Postgraduate FAQs (11 choices)
- The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus FAQs (4 choices)
- The University of Nottingham China Campus FAQs (4 choices)
The next (also easy-to-scan) section might be even better for people with a primary interest in individual academic areas. “Links to further FAQs” adds 6 choices:
- Arts
- Social Sciences
- Sciences
- Health Sciences
- Engineering
- Foundation
Marketing research note…
We hope that someone at Nottingham monitors which FAQs generate the most interest. Quarterly results perhaps. Some questions might be then dropped. Others might be shuffled in order so that those that are most frequent appear higher on the list than the least popular.
On Mobile…
Google Test My Site gives this site a “Good” 5 second mobile download score, estimating only a 19 percent visitor loss from download time.
